Open day

Our last meeting of the month was the Open day event, which started at 1pm. The late start was due to an Intermediate course "practical" being run by Tracey and Alan in the morning.

At 12.30, 7 club members attended the funeral of Tony M6 NWF, who, as you remember, achieved so much in his final year of life, mostly from his sick bed. We will miss him.

The rest of the day saw members coming and going and enjoying what was on offer. Andy brought along a 20 metre beam antenna on top of his mobile lattice tower. His TS 590s was feeding the antenna and SSB and PSK contacts were made throughout the day.

Peter Onion G0DZB our RSGB Regional Rep joined us for a few hours, did some on air CW and chatted to the members. We enjoyed his company. Alistair brought along a display of vintage receivers and transceivers, all of which were working. The display brought back some fond memories to me. All in all, a great day
